Why Should You Do Pilates

Are you interested in becoming more flexible,  improving your core strength, your physical balance, your posture, reducing tight spots, and discomfort in movement? Maybe you’re simply looking to see your body with more love and appreciation. Pilates does all that.  


The great thing about Pilates is it makes everything you do in your life easier, regardless of your age or activity level. 

Meet Teacher Katie

 

I specialize in bringing Pilates to people for the first time.  Most of my students have never done this before, yet they keep coming back for more. Pilates is attainable for everyBODY!  I’ve been doing Pilates regularly since 2018, and I can't imagine my life without it! My body is stronger and more balanced and that is what I strive to create in my students. I have completed a 500 hour classical training program  by a  Pilates Method Alliance (PMA) certified instructor, via PMA guidelines.  I've taught live in a studio and lots of virtual classes (especially during the COVID shelter-in-place).  I like to have fun in my classes! We smile, we laugh and we flop over in exhaustion. :)  It's a time to take a breath and focus on you!  Whatever you do in life, Pilates can help you do it better and with more ease.


Small intimate class sizes and one-on-one instruction is where my heart is and what you will find with MyPilatesTeacher.   I customize your workout for where YOUR body is TODAY and we strengthen, and lengthen from there. We identify your weak spots and target them throughout our workout.  I encourage you to get through the last move but I build in rest periods and relaxing stretches along the way.  We work a lot of deep muscles that typically get skimmed over as well as the front and back of the body in a more uniformed way.  I empower my students to ask questions and give me feedback how movements are feeling in their bodies. There are always modifications if you're not quite there and variations if you need more of a  challenge.  Pilates is a dance between resistance training, stretching, deep breathing and coordination, it stimulates both your mind and your body. 


To make my students feel stronger, more balanced, and more confident in their day-to-day movements is my goal.
